The SGS Library is staffed by member volunteers and usually open for research Tuesday through Saturday. To be sure that the library is open or that the elevator is available, give us a call before you come: (206) 522-8658.
Daytime Hours Tuesday through Saturday, 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM
Evening Hours 6:00 to 8:30 PM on the 3rd Wednesday of the month

  • Internet access for portable computers
  • FamilySearch Affiliate records on any Internet-connected computer within the library.
  • Subscription databases, available only on library computers, include: Ancestry, Fold3, Newspapers Extra, American Ancestors by NEHGS, FindMyPast (UK), New! Archion (Germany), and Historygeo, a database of historical maps and landowners covering 29 US states and pre-statehood Texas.

Family Search Affiliate
The Seattle Genealogical Society is an Affiliate Library for FamilySearch.org and the FamilySearch Library in Salt Lake City. This means that when you are inside the SGS Library either using your own computer or our Patron Computers you will be able to access some of the “locked” records at FamilySearch.org. To view the locked records you will be prompted to sign in to your own account. If you don’t already have an account you may create a free account through FamilySearch.org
