Gathering at the Library for a workshop

Seattle Genealogical Society is an all-volunteer, 501(c)(3) non-profit, charitable organization registered in the state of Washington. We depend upon the generous support of our members and friends to fulfill our mission. We offer several ways you can support our work with your financial contribution. You can donate now online with your credit/debit card or print and mail a Donation Form with a check.

Make a contribution from your IRA – If you are 70 ½ or older, you can contribute directly from your IRA, avoiding income tax on the distributed donation, via a qualified charitable distribution (QCD). Ask your IRA administrator to make a distribution from your IRA account directly to the Seattle Genealogical Society.

Direct a distribution from your Donor Advised Fund (DAF) – We welcome contributions from your donor advised fund. Direct your DAF manager to send a gift to the Seattle Genealogical Society.

Make a gift of appreciated Stock – We have an account to receive your donation of stock, directly from your existing account at any firm. Please contact our treasurer for specific details: treasurer@seagensoc.org.

Arrange for a Matching Gift – Many employers offer to match all or a portion of a contribution you make to SGS. Check to see if your employer will match your gift with an additional gift to SGS.

Membership Renewal – When you renew your annual membership, consider including an additional contribution with your annual dues payment

Annual Appeal – Each December SGS conducts an Annual Appeal requesting financial support from members and friends in the community.

Leave a Bequest There are two simple ways to do this. Name SGS in your will or living trust. Or simply name SGS as a beneficiary for a percentage of your IRA.
